An update on the Queen Street shop

So, after dealing with a two month zoning issue, everything is taken care of finally and the shop is back on track! Today the shop passed it's Fire Marshal's inspection, so it looks like I'll be able to open in about a week, maybe sooner. Once I get the official "ok" from the city to open, I'll be posting our hours and an exclusive in-store coupon just for Curiosity's blog and facebook followers! Meanwhile, enjoy some preview photos of the shop...

A Vintage Stationary Photo Shoot

I just wanted to share a couple shots from a recent photo shoot of Dodeline Design's stationary, shot by Jeni at Sea Star Arts. These are the first professional photos I have seen using pieces from my new vintage rentals venture (in fact, these photos were taken on the pathway right outside the showroom)!

How much do you *love* that calendar?! I need one for my desk, displayed on a little vintage easel of course!

Vintage Rentals & A Lovely Little Cart

Wow, it seems I went on a short trip and completely forgot I even had a blog!

Not much happening in my etsy shop, besides listing lots of new items (including hotel silver, some cake stands, trophies, and other assorted things...go check them out). Not much happening with the store either, just finishing the last minute details before we open part time in about a week...but, I can now announce that our Grand Opening Celebration will take place on Saturday, October 8th! Once we get closer to October I'll be posting more details about the party (think cocktails and lots of tiny desserts).

There are some exciting things happening with Curiosity Vintage Rentals too! Our website is up and running, and the online catalog of rental items is almost complete. You can visit www.curiosityrentals.com to see the little bit of vintage & antique rental goodness that's up there so far, and over the next few days I'll be adding a few dozen more items to the rentals catalog. The second half of my store on Queen Street is a showroom for the vintage rentals, and I'm happy to announce I'll be sharing my showroom with an amazing local photographer, Jeni @ Sea Star Arts; and an equally amazing event planner, Ashley @ Fraiche Event Design!

Though, what I'm most excited about this week has to be the newest addition to Curiosity Vintage Rentals, this lovely vintage 1940's ice cream cart! I can't wait for someone to rent this, I know it will make the most amazing addition to someone's vintage themed wedding. I'll be spiffying it up a little and adding a vintage-looking white & yellow striped umbrella, so it will look as good now as it did back in 1940!

Antiquing Trip

I'm off on a short antiquing trip this weekend through the Carolina mountains!

I'll return on Tuesday with a car filled with new treasures, so be sure to check our etsy shop all next week as I list many of our new finds...so far I've found a few more cake stands, two vintage framed panoramic group pictures c. 1918, an old oak card catalog and an antique printer's cabinet filled with hundreds of old metal letters!!
